Tips for Finding Job in Danish Market

Hej,

The Danish unemployment rate is around 5.6% in 2016. Compare to other countries, Denmark is one of the lowest unemployment rates in Europe.  There is huge demand for labors in certain industries, such as Engineering, IT sector, Bio technologies, medical, research, hotel and Restaurants and cleaning service industries.

To get jobs in above mentioned industries, you need to evaluate bellow things based on that, you can take the decision to choose your job search field.


What is your value in the market?

·         Do you have some competences?

·         Do you have any experience?

·         And what are your demands for life?

Do you have language skills?

  • Do you know Danish? (If you don’t know, you must learn it)
  • Improve your English
  • Of course, your own native language is also important (to get jobs in international organizations)
Are you, using your International background?

  • Do you have any experience other than your home country?
  • Do you know any other languages?
  • Are you willing to work in international environments?




Are you doing these?

  • Searching in Jobs databases (I will soon provide the best job providing websites list)
  • Are you fallowing news or job notifications from embassies and consulates (Sometimes, they need different language speaking people for short or long term basis)
  • Reading newspapers.
  • Do you meet recruitment agencies? (I will post soon some best job consultancies list here)
  • Are you attending, Job fairs? (If you attend, you may get good contacts from the industry)
Do you know there is hidden job market?

  • Most of the jobs never advertised to the public, mostly they recruit through the internal or external references. So you must do networking with people.
  • You can attend some meet-ups for your industry. You can register meetup.com and find there are any meet-ups near to you. It may help you lot.
  •  And sometimes you should able to work as a volunteer.
Do you have Good CV?

·         English or Danish?

·         Give very good impression about you by just reading it.

·         Don’t write than 2-pages.

·         Write in simple language (Simplicity is always better)

·         When you write, Keep in mind, you write specific to the job.
